Is Product D4522, Deoxyribonucleic acid, single or double stranded?
Even though it is activated or "nicked" DNA, we have found that it is primarily double stranded.
What is the solution stability of Product D4522, Deoxyribonucleic acid?
Solutions of deoxyribonucleic acid have been stored successfully for several months at 4°C, in 10 mM Tris, pH 7.5 - 8.0, with 1 mM EDTA and without a bacteriostatic agent. At low concentrations (25 μg/mL), DNA tends to absorb onto the surfaces of plastic tubes. It is not recommended to store deoxyribonucleic acid in alkaline solutions since it tends to degrade at pH greater than 8.0.
What is the molecular weight of Product D4522, Deoxyribonucleic acid?
The molecular weight is reported to be between 10-15 million Daltons prior to activation (nicking).
Is BSA (bovine serum albumin) used during the method of preparation for Product D4522, Deoxyribonucleic acid?
During the method of preparation, when deoxyribonucleic acid is nicked, BSA is added to the solution. This is followed by an extraction method to remove all exogenous protein. We do not, however, claim this deoxyribonucleic acid is 100% clean of all proteins (including BSA).
