鲑鱼精脱氧核糖核酸(SS-DNA)可用于研究DNA与结合剂、插入剂、修饰剂、检测剂和致密剂的物理化学相互作用。鲑鱼精DNA被用于研究磁性介孔二氧化硅纳米颗粒(M-MSNs)的负载能力和聚合物纳米层结构的结合能力。SS-DNA可作为开发DNA检测方法的底物。

    The molecular weight for product D1626 has not been determined.  In general, the reference J.A.C.S., vol. 118, 10679 (1996), reports the molecular weight to be 1.3 million or around 2,000 base pairs.

    Sigma tests solubility in water at 2 mg/mL.  To prevent shearing of the large genomic DNA, this product should be dissolved in water (1 mg/mL) with no sonication or stirring. Gentle inversion overnight at 0-4 °C is recommended to completely solubilize the DNA. The presence of 1 mM EDTA is recommended to prevent nucleases from degrading the DNA.

    Solutions of DNA have been stored successfully for several months at 4°C, in 10 mM Tris, pH 7.5 - 8.0, with 1 mM EDTA and without a bacteriostatic agent.
