For use in Hoefer automated gel stainer as well as for manual silver staining.
Features and Benefits
- Based on the methodology of Heukeshoven and Dernick, the kit gives essentially colorless backgrounds in most gel electrophoresis systems.
- Silver Staining Kit, Protein provides convenient, reproducible and sensitive staining of proteins in polyacrylamide gels .including PhastGels in less than two hours
- The visualization technique detects most proteins in the nanogram range, which is 100-fold more sensitive than Coomassie Blue staining.
- Typical sensitivity is 0.2 to 0.6 ng protein/band.
- Use with 2-D electrophoresis and mass spectrometry by omitting glutaraldehyde from staining procedure.
