    Porapak Q is an ethylvinylbenzene and divinylbenzene copolymer bead which is used in packed column gas chromatography for separating light gases and volatiles.

  4. What does the 50/80 stand for in the product description of Porapak Porous Polymer Adsorbent Q, Product 20330-U?

    The 50/80 is refering to the mesh size range of the actual Porapak Q particles.  The larger the mesh number the smaller the diameter of the bead.  In this case 50 refers to a diameter of 297 microns and 80 refers to a diameter of 177 microns.  Therefore, the particles in this product will range between 297 and 177 microns.

  5. Is this product a packed column?

    This is packing material only; it is not a column. Some endusers will purchase this bottle of packing and prepare their own packed columns.
