Monoclonal Anti-Monkeypox virus/MPXV M1R Antibody, clone SAA0284 binds to the surface of the monkeypox virus, preventing it from entering the cells of the host organism. This prevents the virus from replicating and spreading, thus providing protection against infection.
General description
Anti-Monkeypox virus/MPXV M1R Antibody, clone SAA0284 is a monoclonal antibody produced in mouse. The monoclonal antibodies are IgG immunoglobulins, composed of two heavy chains and two light chains. Each chain contains a variable region that is specific for the target antigen, and a constant region that is responsible for binding to the B-cell receptor and other molecules involved in the immune response.
Monkeypox virus (MPXV), like smallpox virus, belongs to the genus Orthopoxvirus. Its morphology is consistent with that of orthopoxvirus, with a brick-shaped or oval shape with rounded corners and a size of 200~400nm. Brick-shaped or oval-shaped, covered by a lipoprotein membrane or envelope, with two protein-containing side bodies in the middle, and a thick membrane core containing a large double-stranded DNA gene body. The genome of Mpox virus is a double-stranded DNA, about 197kb long, and the end of the genome contains an identical but opposite terminal inverted repeat sequence. The virus contains 190 open reading frames, 4 of which are located in terminal inverted repeats. The core proteins of monkeypox virus are A29L, A35R, B6R, M1R, H3L.
