基因信息

human ... HMGA2(8091)

一般描述

High mobility group A2 (HMGA2) protein is a non-histone architectural transcription factor. This protein belongs to the high-mobility group adenine/thymine (AT)-hook (HMGA) family. HMGA2 is expressed in the mesenchyme prior differentiation and tumors of epithelial origin. The HMGA2 gene is located on the human chromosome at 12q14.3.

免疫原

Recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 109 of HMGA2 (Uniprot ID#P52926)

应用

Anti-HMGA2 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry (1:250), (1:100), (1:4000).

生化/生理作用

High mobility group A2 (HMGA2) protein is involved in regulating the activity of various genes by binding to the adenine/thymine (AT)-rich sequences present in the minor groove of B‑form DNA. This protein plays a role in many biological processes such as the DNA damage repair process, senescence, apoptosis, and cell cycle process. HMGA2 protein also plays a role in epithelial-mesenchymal transition and telomere restoration. Overexpression of HMG2A gene is observed in metastatic lung adenocarcinoma.
