HABP2 (hyaluronan binding protein 2) is a heterodimeric serine protease consisting of 50kDa and 17kDa subunits connected by a disulfide bond. It is located on chromosome 10q25-q26. It is composed of three epidermal growth factor (EGF) domains, a kringle domain, and a serine protease domain, from its N-terminus end. Each subunit contains a novel N-terminal amino acid sequence. It is expressed in human plasma of liver, kidney, and pancreas.

HABP2 (hyaluronan binding protein 2) participates in fibrinolysis indirectly by cleaving the α-chain at multiple sites and the β-chain between ′Lys-53′ and ′Lys-54′.
