糖蛋白检测试剂盒专门设计用于对聚丙烯酰胺凝胶及膜上的糖蛋白进行选择性染色，使用了改良的Periodic Acid-Schiff (PAS)方法。[1] 对糖蛋白中糖基团的染色会在无色本底中得到品红色条带。periodic acid/Schiff试剂可对主要存在于外周糖类及唾液酸中的邻位二元醇基团进行染色，可用做糖蛋白普遍染色。[2]
