Biochem/physiol Actions

抗体不与 α-连环蛋白或 γ-连环蛋白（斑珠蛋白）交叉反应。
连环蛋白可直接或间接结合细胞粘附分子钙粘蛋白的细胞质内尾部保守结构域。β-β连环蛋白直接结合E-钙粘蛋白的胞质尾部区域。Plakoglobin蛋白（很有可能即为γ-连环蛋白）和β-连环蛋白是armadillo(arm)蛋白（一种参与信号转导的果蝇蛋白）在结构和功能上（可能）的哺乳动物同源物。它可结合α-连环蛋白的氨基末端，也可与人肿瘤抑制基因结肠腺瘤息肉病(APC)的胞浆蛋白产物相互作用。β-连环蛋白的核心区参与介导钙粘蛋白-连环蛋白复合体与表皮生长因子受体的相互作用。β-连环蛋白是原癌基因Src和无翅基因相关整合位点(Wnt-1)介导的信号转导通路的靶标。p120cas在结构上类似于β-连环蛋白和plakoglobin蛋白，可能是又一种与钙粘蛋白有关的连环蛋白。

General description

连环蛋白由不同的外周胞浆蛋白组成，分为α-、β-和γ-连环蛋白（分子量各为102 kDa、94 kDa和86 kDa）。它在许多发育和成人组织中以不同含量分布。

Immunogen

相应的人/小鼠 βC-末端区域（氨基酸 768-781）的合成肽-连环蛋白，与戊二醛结合为 KLH。
