一般描述
乙醇是澄清无色溶液，可通过糖类发酵制取。因其杀菌性可用作外用消毒剂。它是酒精饮料的主要成分，并广泛用作药物制品的溶剂和防腐剂。作为可供人类接触或摄入物质的溶剂，广泛用于色素、香水、香味剂和药品生产。乙醇对中枢神经系统(CNS)具有抑制作用，并且由于对精神的影响作用而被视为药物。乙醇的作用机制复杂，可影响大脑的多个系统，最值得注意的是，它可作为GABA受体的激动剂。乙醇可掺入汽油，相比其他化石燃料，可降低CO和CO2 的排放，因此主要用于替代石油。[1]
