膜联蛋白-V-FLUOS 是一种磷脂结合蛋白，对磷脂酰丝氨酸 (PS) 具有高度亲和力。因此，带膜联蛋白-V 细胞表面PS的检测可作为凋亡细胞的标记。可通过流式细胞术或荧光镜检法进行分析。
特异性
膜联蛋白-V 以 Ca 2 + 依赖性方式结合带负电荷的磷脂表面，并显示对磷脂酰丝氨酸的高度亲和力。
应用
细胞凋亡早期，细胞表面发生改变。其中一种质膜改变是磷脂酰丝氨酸 (PS) 从质膜内部向外层的移位，而PS 由此暴露在细胞外表面。
膜联蛋白-V-FLUOS 通过流式细胞术（FACS） 或荧光镜检法，通过结合凋亡细胞膜外叶上的磷脂酰丝氨酸，检测悬浮细胞中的凋亡细胞。 需要用 碘化丙啶 (PI)（举例来说）进行同时标记，以区分凋亡细胞和坏死细胞。
也可以进行其他二级标记，例如 ，用藻红蛋白或 TRITC 标记的单克隆抗体进行膜表面染色，以进一步确定细胞特征。
