醛固酮合成酶(或18-羟化酶)是一种参与醛固酮生成的类固醇羟化酶细胞色素P450氧化酶。 该基因编码酶的细胞色素P450超家族的其中一个成员。细胞色素P450蛋白是单加氧酶,可催化许多与药物代谢以及胆固醇、类固醇和其他脂质合成有关的反应。该蛋白质定位于线粒体内膜。该酶具有类固醇18-羟化酶活性以合成醛固酮和18-氧代皮质醇以及类固醇11β-羟化酶活性。该基因的突变导致皮质酮甲基氧化酶缺乏。(Pascoe, L, et al.
