醛固酮合成酶(或18-羟化酶)是一种参与醛固酮生成的类固醇羟化酶细胞色素P450氧化酶。 该基因编码酶的细胞色素P450超家族的其中一个成员。细胞色素P450蛋白是单加氧酶,可催化许多与药物代谢以及胆固醇、类固醇和其他脂质合成有关的反应。该蛋白质定位于线粒体内膜。该酶具有类固醇18-羟化酶活性以合成醛固酮和18-氧代皮质醇以及类固醇11β-羟化酶活性。该基因的突变导致皮质酮甲基氧化酶缺乏。(Pascoe, L, et al. 应用

蛋白质印迹法:识别肾上腺球状带线粒体制备物中~48kDa的条带。该酶在肾上腺球状带组织中表达最好,在肾脏中几乎检测不到。
免疫组织化学: 1:50-1:200,ABC,酶法检测;克隆对石蜡包埋的STF固定组织效果最好。STF可从Streck Laboratories,www.streck.com获得。 已成功报告福尔马林固定,但工作稀释度低得多(见Fujisawa等人)。 建议的复染剂是Gill′s苏木精。
免疫细胞化学:丙酮固定细胞,1:20-1:200。

最佳工作稀释度必须由最终用户确定。
