Rosetta宿主菌株是BL21衍生物,旨在增强真核蛋白的表达,该蛋白含有在大肠杆菌中很少使用的密码子。这些菌株在兼容的氯霉素抗性质粒上为AGG、AGA、AUA、CUA、CCC、GGA密码子提供tRNA。因此,Rosetta菌株提供了“通用”翻译,否则该翻译受大肠杆菌密码子使用的限制。tRNA基因由其天然启动子驱动。在Rosetta(DE3)pLysS中,稀有tRNA基因存在于携带T7溶菌酶基因的相同质粒上。
