应用
三乙氧基（辛基）硅烷可用于制备几种配方，用于制造低成本、比色传感器阵列，以检测有毒气体。
正辛基三乙氧基硅烷和1H, 1H, 2H, 2H全氟辛基三氯硅烷(PFOTS)可涂覆铝合金获得接触角高达160-170°、适于船体和海上系统的超疏水性表面。它可稳定比色传感器的孔隙率以确保即时的颜色变化，具有毒气检测应用潜力。它还用于生产混合沸石。
