    The chemicals encyclopedia published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (13th ed.) indicates that this product is expected to be miscible in hydrocarbons, including benzene, ether, and petroleum ether.

  5. How do I remove Product 256781, Diethylzinc, from the container?

    This product is air sensitive and is package under inert gas. Transfer of this product should be conducted under inert atmosphere (such as in a glove box or Atmosbag) to reduce the chance of exposure of the chemical to the atmosphere. Additional details about how to handle and store air-sensitive materials can be found in Sigma-Aldrich technical bulletin AL-134.

  6. What do I do with the Product 256781, Diethylzinc, bottle once it is empty?

    Product 256781 is packed in a Sure/Pac cylinder. When the contents of the cylinder have been exhausted Sigma-Aldrich recommends that a licensed waste disposal company be contacted for the appropriate means to dispose of this container. Some residual product might remain in the container and should not be discarded with general waste. Alternatively, Sigma-Aldrich does offer an option for returning empty Sure/Pac cylinders. The customer will be required to pay for the return shipping and a minimal disposal charge, as Sigma-Aldrich does not require these cylinders to be returned. Additional information on the Sure/Pac return program can be obtained by contacting customer service at 800-325-3010.
