N-Methyl-N-(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (MSTFA) is a derivatizing reagent. It can be used as alternatives to diazomethane.[1]

Application

Silylating agent used to form volatile derivatives for GC-MS analysis.[2]
Improved silylation procedure for simultaneous detection of steroid hormones 17-α-ethynylestradiol and estrone.[3]
