Biochem/physiol Actions
Transmembrane member 16A (TMEM16A) or Ano1 is crucial for normal electrical slow waves and for the proliferation of interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC). The protein has a role in smooth muscle contraction, salivary secretion and cardiac and neuronal excitability. TMEM16A has been associated with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and breast cancer.

General description
Transmembrane member 16A (TMEM16A) or Anoctamin1 (Ano1) is a calcium-activated chloride channel. It is expressed in the interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in the gastrointestinal tract. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 11q13.3.
Immunogen
TMEM16A antibody was raised against a 17 amino acid peptide from near the amino terminus of human TMEM16A.
Other Notes
The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP3500318.
Physical form
Supplied in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide.
