General description

The gene LAMC2 (laminin subunit γ 2) is mapped to human chromosome 1q25-q31. LAMC2 is part of the heterotrimeric glycoprotein laminin-332.

Application

Anti-LAMC2 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem/physiol Actions

In many tissues, LAMC2 (laminin subunit γ 2) acts as a structural component of the epithelial basement membrane. LAMC2 monomer is associated with cancers, such as lung adenocarcinoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and pancreatic cancer. Mutations in LAMC2 are linked with junctional epidermolysis bullosa.
