Deoxyhypusine synthase (DHPS) (UniProt: P49366, also known as EC:2.5.1.46) is encoded by the DHPS (also known as DS) gene (Gene ID: 1725) in human. Deoxyhypusine synthase (DHPS) is a highly conserved protein. It is involved in the post-translational modification of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A (eIF5A). It catalyzes the conversion of a lysine residue on eIF5A to the unique amino acid hypusine, which is essential for the function of eIF5A. Hypusinated eIF5A (eIF5AHyp) controls the translation of mRNAs involved in inflammation. DHPS also plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including protein synthesis, cell growth, and differentiation, cell proliferation and apoptosis. DHPS is expressed in various tissues and cell types. It is particularly abundant in tissues with high rates of protein synthesis, such as the liver, brain, and testis. Altered levels of DHPS activity have been observed in certain cancers, implicated in neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and infectious diseases. Quality Control Testing

Clone 1K20 is a ZooMAb^® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects DHPS. It targets an epitope within 25 amino acids from the N-terminal half.

Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.

Reconstitute lyophilized antibody pellet with 25μL of ultrapure water or Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS). Please refer to our reconstitution protocol and the specific application guidance on the suggested starting dilutions and sample type.
