Clone 1C3 is a ZooMAb^® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects KLF2. It targets an epitope within 20 amino acids from the N-terminal region.

Quality Control Testing

Evaluated by Western Blotting in HeLa cell nuclear extract.

Western Blotting Analysis (WB): A 1:10,000 dilution of this antibody detected KLF2 in HeLa cell nuclear extract.

Tested Applications

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:100 dilution of this antibody detected KLF2 in Human stomach tissue sections.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected KLF2 in MCF-7 cells.

Flow Cytometry Analysis: 0.1 g from a representative lot detected KLF2 in one million MCF-7 cells.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:10,000 dilution from a representative lot detected GST-tagged recombinant fragment corresponding to 56 amino acids from the N-terminal region of Human KLF2.

Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound KLF2 peptide with a KD of 9.2 x 10-8 in an affinity binding assay.

Krueppel-like factor 2 (UniProt: Q9Y5W3; also known as Lung krueppel-like factor, KLF2) is encoded by the KLF2 (also known as LKLF) gene (Gene ID: 10365) in human. KLF2 is a member of the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family that serves as a transcription factor that binds to the CACCC box in the promoter of target genes and activates their transcription. It contains a nine amino acids transactivation domain (aa 43-51). Its expression is observed in mammalian development and is found in many different cell types. It plays a role in several biological processes including adipogenesis, embryonic erythropoiesis, epithelial integrity, inflammation, and T-cell viability. It is reported to inhibit proinflammatory activation of monocytes and KLF2 expression in monocytes is reduced by cytokine activation. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
