单克隆抗维生素B12抗体与人血浆和血清中的维生素B12以及维生素B12-KLH和维生素B12-BSA偶联物反应。
维生素B12或称钴胺素是一种水溶性维生素。它是所有维生素中最大、最复杂的维生素。维生素B12天然存在于动物食品、肉、奶、蛋、鱼和贝类中。

应用

单克隆抗维生素(B12)抗体已被用于酶联免疫吸附测定(ELISA)。
小鼠抗维生素B12单克隆抗体还可用于免疫细胞化学。

生化/生理作用

维生素B12可作为蛋氨酸合酶和L-甲基丙二酰−辅酶A突变酶的辅因子。它对于中枢神经系统(CNS)的维护和发育至关重要。维生素B12缺乏会导致巨幼细胞性贫血和神经病变。
维生素B12和叶酸可用于治疗中枢神经系统(CNS)发育、情绪和认知衰退疾病,包括某些痴呆症。
维生素B12调节基因组稳定性。尽管维生素B12 水平升高与肝脏和血液疾病有关;钴胺素缺乏症却与直立性低血压和抑郁症有关。该抗体还可检测辅酶B12和甲基维生素B12,但不与BSA、叶酸和5-甲基四氢叶酸缔合。
