Biochem/physiol Actions

γ在体内，-微管蛋白在整个哺乳动物细胞周期中使微管组装成核。γ-微管蛋白可结合微管末端，负责介导微管与中心体之间的连接。它在MTOC中起微管成核剂的作用。与 β-微管蛋白（微管蛋白分子的一半）结合，建立微管极性，使 α-微管蛋白一半暴露在正端。γ-微管蛋白的丰度不到 α-微管蛋白或 β-微管蛋白水平的1％。 肺癌中γ-微管蛋白过表达。γ微管蛋白的表达水平可以认为是星形细胞瘤患者的重要预后指标。
单克隆抗-γ-微管蛋白可识别位于-γ-微管蛋白（48kDa）的N-末端氨基酸中的表位。已经观察到对于人、牛、狗、仓鼠、大鼠、小鼠、鸡、以及 非洲爪蟾 中γ微管蛋白的交叉反应性。

General description

γ-微管蛋白（48kDa）是普遍存在且高度保守的蛋白，存在于真核细胞微管组织中心（MTOC）。γ-微管蛋白定位于人染色体17q21.2上，并可编码微管蛋白家族的成员。人TUBG1转录物可在植入前胚胎和脑中广泛表达。
抗γ-微管蛋白（小鼠IgG1亚型）单克隆抗体来自于免疫小鼠骨髓瘤细胞和脾细胞相互融合而产生的GTU-88杂交瘤细胞。
