Biochem/physiol Actions
Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) regulates both cell growth and cell motility. It exerts a strong mitogenic effect on hepatocytes and primary epithelial cells. HGF synergizes with interleukin-3 and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) to stimulate colony formation of hematopoietic progenitor cells in vitro and may, therefore, also modulate hematopoiesis. It is expressed in brain tumors.
General description
Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) is a multifunctional growth factor. HGF Human Recombinant produced in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) is a heterodimer, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain consisting of an α-chain of 463 amino acids and β-chain of 234 having a total molecular mass of 80.017kDa. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 7q21.1. The HGF is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Physical form
The protein was lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml) solution containing PBS pH 7.4 containing 0.05% Tween 20 and 100 mM L-arginine.
Preparation Note
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF) in sterile 18 MΩcm-1 H2O not less than 100 μg/mL, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Activation of the RET gene by chromosomal rearrangements generating RET/PTC oncogenes is a frequent, early, and causative event in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). We have previously shown that, in human primary thyrocytes, RET/PTC1 induces a transcriptional program including the MET

Hepatic fibrosis is considered as a physiological wound-healing response to liver injury. The process involves several factors, such as hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), which restrains hepatic injury and facilitates reversibility of fibrotic reaction in response to an acute insult. Chronic

Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is an aggressive disease with a poor prognosis. Studies have shown that both MET and its key downstream intracellular signaling partners, PI3K and mTOR, are overexpressed in MPM. Here we determined the combinatorial therapeutic efficacy of
