髓鞘碱性蛋白(MBP)是 CNS(中枢神经系统)髓鞘的重要组成部分,是一种自身免疫原。它定位于人类染色体 18q 上。

生化/生理作用

MBP 或髓鞘碱性蛋白在髓磷脂形成过程中形成跨胞质的二聚体。涉及折叠、聚合和底物特异性的蛋白质区域在各种物种中均是保守的,并且在髓磷脂膜中的蛋白质-脂质相互作用中可能具有特殊作用。MBP 是多种蛋白激酶的有效底物,与 MARCKS 蛋白具有相似性,均具有受其环境调控的扩展构象、N 末端修饰,与脂质相互作用的双重性质以及与肌动蛋白和 Ca2+-钙调蛋白的结合。髓鞘碱性蛋白(MBP)预期在 MS(多发性硬化症)等脱髓鞘疾病中发挥重要作用。
