白介素13（IL-13）是一种免疫调节性细胞因子，主要由活化的辅助性T2（Th2）细胞产生，肥大细胞和自然杀伤（NK）细胞也会产生。编码它的基因位于人类染色体5q31上。人和鼠IL-13具有跨物种反应性。重组人IL-13是含有115个氨基酸残基的12.6kDa蛋白质。
生化/生理作用
白介素13（IL-13）在抵抗感染的免疫活性方面发挥作用，影响参与的各种细胞的功能。它在胶质母细胞瘤肿瘤和细胞系中过表达。在许多传染病中，IL-13可刺激纤维化。小鼠IL-13的靶向缺失导致受损的辅助性T2（Th2）细胞发育，并表明IL-13在驱除胃肠道寄生虫中发挥重要作用。IL-13对单核细胞和巨噬细胞具有抗炎作用，可抑制肿瘤坏死因子α（TNF-α）、白介素1β、6和8等炎性细胞因子的表达。IL-13还可以促进B细胞增殖，诱导同种型转化，从而提高免疫球蛋白E（IgE）的产生。阻断IL-13活性可抑制哮喘的病理生理学过程。
