生化/生理作用
环二鸟苷酸是一种天然存在的小分子，其作为一种细菌第二信使，调节原核生物中的重要信号机制，这些信号机制控制细菌存活、粘附、定植、生物膜形成，以及毒性因子产生。在感染期间，环二鸟苷酸与宿主 STING（干扰素基因刺激蛋白）结合，导致干扰素基因的表达，激活先天免疫应答。在真核生物体中，环二鸟苷酸不仅在免疫应答中起作用，也作为心脏起搏器 I（F）电流的抑制剂起作用。
