GW2580是cFMS激酶的细胞渗透性、强效性、选择性ATP竞争性抑制剂，是巨噬细胞集落刺激因子、M-CSF或CSF-1的受体，也是巨噬细胞和破骨细胞活化和分化的关键调节因子。FMS是一种III型受体酪氨酸激酶，与巨噬细胞或单核细胞集落刺激因子（M-CSF或CSF-1）结合。CSF-1和/或FMS的过表达与多种疾病有关，包括某些类型癌症的转移生长、促进骨溶解中破骨细胞的增殖以及几种炎症性疾病。GW2580在体外以0.06μM选择性抑制cFMS介导的细胞功能，并且在体内“抑制CSF-1依赖性肿瘤生长”。GW2580对其他26种激酶没有活性。
