16F16 是一种蛋白质二硫键异构酶 (PDI) 抑制剂，首次在屏幕亨廷顿蛋白诱导细胞凋亡的化合物筛选中发现。16F16 不仅能抑制错误折叠的蛋白突变体亨廷顿基因诱导的细胞凋亡，还能保护大鼠神经元免受 Aβ 肽引发的细胞死亡。这种抑制剂的作用有助于确定一个新的机制，在这个机制中，细胞死亡途径通过 PDI 上调被蛋白质错误折叠调节。
