ApoC-III is a glycoprotein that has 79 amino acids.[1] It is coded by APOC3 gene.[2] APOC3 is expressed in the liver and intestine.[3] This gene is located on human chromosome 11.[3]

Apolipoprotein C-III (APOC3) has the ability to prevent lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and hepatic lipase activity.[1] It is considered as a major modulator of triglyceride metabolism.[4]
