一般描述
Receptor interacting serine/threonine kinase 2 (RIPK2) or RICK is a serine/threonine kinase.[1] It contains a kinase domain at the amino-terminal, an intermediate domain and a caspase activation and recruitment domain (CARD) at the carboxy-terminal.[2] The gene encoding RIPK2 is localized on human chromosome 8q21.3.[3]
生化/生理作用
Receptor interacting serine/threonine kinase 2 (RIPK2) or RICK is activated during innate immune responses and acts as a scaffold for downstream effectors.[4] It functions in nuclear factor-κB (NFκB) activation pathways.[1] The protein also has roles in toll-like receptor (TLR)-signaling pathways and in the production of inflammatory cytokines.[5]

Signaling through the CD95/Fas/APO-1 death receptor plays a critical role in the homeostasis of the immune system. RICK, a novel protein kinase that regulates CD95-mediated apoptosis was identified and characterized. RICK is composed of an N-terminal serine-threonine kinase catalytic domain
