一般描述
无机硫酸盐是哺乳动物血浆中最丰富的阴离子之一。硫酸盐在激活和解毒异生物素，类固醇，神经递质和胆汁酸方面起着重要的生理作用。硫酸盐是生物合成脑苷脂，糖胺聚糖和肝素硫酸盐的必需物质。软骨蛋白聚糖的硫酸盐不足会导致人类遗传性骨软骨发育不良症。在哺乳动物中，硫酸盐稳态由肾脏调节。大部分经过滤的硫酸盐吸收在近端小管中，只有5-20%的经过滤负荷被排泄到尿液中。
应用
硫酸盐测定试剂盒已被用于测定硫酸盐的浓度。

原理
该试剂盒采用了改进的方法，利用了聚乙二醇中不溶性硫酸钡的定量形成方法。在600 nm处测得的浊度与样品中的硫酸盐含量成正比。
