General description
Monoclonal Anti-MRP1 (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the QCRL-4 hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells (SP2/O) and splenocytes from mice. MRP1 protein belongs to the multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP) subfamily of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-binding cassette (ABC) transporters.
Multidrug resistance associated protein 1 (MRP1) is present in subcellular vesicles and is composed of 1531 amino acids. It has a molecular weight of 190kDa. The gene encoding MRP1 is localized in human chromosome 16p13.11.
Immunogen
non-denatured membrane preparations of H69AR human small cell lung cancer cell line, which highly expresses MRP1. The epitope resides within the second nucleotide-binding domain of human MRP1 between amino acids 1294-1531.
Application
Anti-MRP1 antibody, Mouse monoclonal may be used in:
- noncompetitive capillary electrophoresis immunoassay (CEIA)
- immunoblotting
- flow cytometry
- immunoprecipitation
- transport inhibition
Biochem/physiol Actions
Does not cross-react with the human MDR1 and MDR3 proteins.
Multidrug resistance associated protein 1 (MRP1) functions in the metabolism of many drugs. It is involved in transporting different biomolecules and anticancer drugs like prostaglandins, glutathione, alkaloids and anthracyclines. MRP1 offers resistance against chemotherapy to cells in solid tumors.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% bovine serum albumin and 15 mM sodium azide.
Preparation Note
For continuous use, store at 2-8 °C for up to one month. For prolonged storage, freeze in working aliquots at −20 °C. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Storage in frost-free freezers is also not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.

The adenosine triphosphate (ATP) binding-cassette (ABC) transporters are a superfamily of cellular proteins that have been partly implicated as a cause of multidrug resistance (MDR) in cancer cells. The ABC superfamily consists of P-glycoprotein, multidrug resistance-associated proteins (MRP) and breast
