MutS Homolog 6 (MSH6) is localized on human chromosome 2p16.3. MSH6 is a 160 kDa protein with nuclear localization sequence and a N-terminal disordered domain. It is a human homolog of E. coli MutS.

免疫原

synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 1311-1327 of human MSH6, conjugated to KLH via an N-terminal added cysteine residue. The immunizing peptide differs from the rat and mouse sequences in one amino acid.

Anti-MSH6 (C-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit has been used in:

生化/生理作用

MSH6 (also known as GTBP) was isolated from HeLa cells by virtue of its ability to restore mismatch repair to nuclear extracts of MSH2-deficient colorectal tumor cell lines. MutS Homolog 6 (MSH6) is part ofDNA repair pathways and play a key role onmutator S protein (hMutSα) shuttling. MSH6 has ATPase activity that is critical in mismatch repair. Germline mutations in MSH6 is associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer and in endometrial carcinoma.
