凝集素是一种碳水化合物结合蛋白,存在于植物的根、根茎、叶、种子和茎中。凝集素不仅存在于细胞核中,也存在于细胞质中。
应用
来自紫藤的凝集素已用于:
- 通过免疫荧光法研究小鼠脑外神经网和小白蛋白网
- 通过微孔板法评估N-乙酰半乳糖胺(GalNAc)转移到高斯荧光素酶(GLuc)底物的量
- 研究对周围神经网的结合作用
生化/生理作用
凝集素与多糖、糖脂和糖蛋白的聚糖具有高亲和力。它参与植物的防御反应。
WFA不是血型特异性的,但对N-乙酰基-D- 半乳糖胺具有亲和力。
