脂多糖（LPS）是革兰氏阴性细菌细胞壁的特征成分。LPS及其脂质A部分通过Toll样受体4（TLR4）刺激先天免疫系统的细胞，TLR4是Toll样受体蛋白家族的成员，该家族可识别常见的病原体相关分子模式（PAMP）。
生化/生理作用
LPS是大多数革兰氏阴性细菌细胞壁的主要成分。它是一种高免疫原性抗原，可增强对可溶性抗原的免疫应答。LPS也是小鼠、兔、鸡、牛、仓鼠和人的骨髓源B淋巴细胞的特异性促分裂原。
重悬
