应用
牛奶中的过氧化物酶用作牛奶过氧化物酶标准品，研究在原料乳中存在乳过氧化物酶时H2O2对抑制金黄色葡萄球菌生长的作用。它也用于乳过氧化物酶介导的碘化，以制备放射性标记肽。
生化/生理作用
乳过氧化物酶通过灭活多种微生物来促进牛奶的抗菌系统。这种乳过氧化物酶介导的抗菌系统也见于人类分泌物，如泪液、唾液和乳汁。乳过氧化物酶通过释放H2O2催化分子氧化。产物具有抗菌活性。
乳过氧化物酶催化过氧化氢与碘化物的氧化反应生成碘。该活性提供了一种温和的特异性氯胺 T 替代物，用于蛋白质和 DNA 的放射性碘化反应。
