NLR family CARD domain containing 3 (NLRC3) possesses a caspase activation and recruitment domain (CARD). It is part of the NLR family of cytosolic pathogen recognition receptors. The gene encoding this cytoplasmic protein is localized on human chromosome 16.

NLR family CARD domain containing 3 (NLRC3) may have a role in inflammation. It may act as a suppressor of T cell functions by inhibiting nuclear factor κB (NF-κB). NLRC3 negatively modulates innate immunity and inflammatory cytokines.
