Calsequestrin 2 (CASQ2) is a calcium storage protein in the sarcoplasmic reticulum. It consists of 399 amino acids and the gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 1p13.

应用

生化/生理作用

Calsequestrin 2 (CASQ2) is a modulator of calcium release mediated by the cardiac ryanodine receptor (RyR2). Mutations in this gene affect calcium release and have been associated with sudden cardiac arrest in coronary artery disease patients. Mutations in the gene are also linked to catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia 2 (CPVT2).
