The gene NXN (nucleoredoxin) encodes a member of the thioredoxin (TRX) superfamily, the members of which are involved in response to oxidative stress. The encoded protein contains a conserved TRX domain and a catalytic motif for oxidoreductase activity. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 17p13.

生化/生理作用

The gene NXN (Nucleoredoxin) encodes a thiol reductase that regulates the redux state of transcription factors. The encoded protein negatively regulates Wnt/β-catenin pathway via dishevelled (Dvl). The Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is in turn involved in the redox-dependent regulation of cell fate and early development.
