The gene PHF12 (PHD finger protein 12) is mapped to human chromosome 17q11.2. The protein contains two plant homeodomain (PHD) zinc fingers. It is expressed in heart, brain, lung, liver and testis. PHF12 localizes in the nucleus. PHF12 is commonly referred to as PF1 (PHD factor 1).

生化/生理作用

PHF12 (PHD finger protein 12) is involved in transcriptional regulation. It interacts with Sin3A (SIN3 transcription regulator family member A) complex to repress transcription. Similarly, PHF12-mediated recruitment of TLE (transducin-like enhancer) complex represses transcription.
