磷脂酰肌醇-4,5-二磷酸3-激酶催化亚基β亚型是人PIK3CB基因编码的酶。它参与调节细胞生长的信号传导通路，通过激活它来响应各种有丝分裂刺激。PI3-激酶存在不同亚型，有编码可与p85结合的不同PI3-激酶催化亚基的基因家族。它通常在肿瘤中被激活。PI3K通路在肿瘤中被激活，最常见的是通过p110α突变或PTEN缺失。
