Biochem/physiol Actions

依布硒(Ebselen)是一种谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶类似物，具有抗炎活性。它还具有抗动脉粥样硬化效用。依布硒对多重耐药金黄色葡萄球菌(MRSA)感染具有抗菌性，可作为治疗MRSA引发的皮肤感染的潜力药物。它可作为神经保护剂，并在炎症相关的癌变中具有化学预防功效。
一种具有抗氧化属性的有机硒化合物。在不存在巯基的情况下抑制哺乳动物脂氧合酶，并通过与半胱氨酸残基的相互作用抑制谷胱甘肽 S-转移酶和木瓜蛋白酶。还可通过共价修饰半胱氨酸残基抑制吲哚胺 2,3-双加氧酶，该作用可被二硫苏糖醇逆转。其还可抑制低密度脂蛋白 (LDL) 的氧化。
