卡诺醇已被用作一种抗癌剂：

麝香醇和鼠尾草酸(CA)的抗氧化活性占迷迭香叶的90%。在慢性应激条件下，它具有神经保护特性，可以防止神经炎症和氧化应激诱导的脑损伤。卡诺醇是一种强效化疗药物，研究用于多种类型的癌症，如乳腺癌、白血病、皮肤癌、前列腺癌和结肠癌。它也可用作抗菌剂。
