花萼海绵体诱癌素A（来源于式根岛海绵）可结合大田软海绵酸受体。可激活平滑肌中的钙通道。Calyculin A可调节蛋白磷酸化，从而调节精子获能。可促进活化B细胞核因子κ-轻链增强子(NF-κB)的磷酸化和细胞凋亡。
1型和2A型蛋白磷酸酶抑制剂；海洋毒素，强效肿瘤促进剂。
