Biochem/physiol Actions

胆固醇酯酶(CE)是一种可逆酶,可以水解或合成胆固醇和其他固醇的脂肪酸酯。水不溶性长链脂肪酸酯的水解需要经过胆盐活化。短链脂肪酸和溶血磷脂的水溶性酯的水解则不需要胆盐的活化。它还可水解三、二和单酰基甘油、磷脂、溶血磷脂和神经酰胺。该酶在脂质和脂蛋白代谢以及动脉粥样硬化中可能具有多种功能。
