General description
Bax is a tumor suppressor that belongs to the Bcl-2 family and modulates cellular apoptosis. Bax is regulated by p53 and increased Bax levels have been associated with cell death stimuli. Alterations in Bax have been linked to several neurological diseases and cancers . Monoclonal Anti-Bax antibody is specific for the epitope within amino acids 3-16 of the human Bax protein. The antibody reacts with Bax in bovines and humans, but not in mice and rats.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 3-16 of the human Bax sequence, conjugated to KLH.
Application
Monoclonal Anti-Bax antibody is suitable for use in western blot (1-5 μg/mL using cultured human breast adenocarcinoma MCF-7 cells, activated with dexamethasone) and microarray.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate bufered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
