General description
Binds all rat IgG1/IgG2a
Mixture from hybridomas RT-39 and RL-6, secreting monoclonal antibodies against rat κ and λ light chains, respectively.
The product is a mixture derived from hybridomas RT-39 and RL-6, secreting monoclonal antibodies against rat κ and λ light chains, respectively.
The product recognizes epitopes located on the rat κ and λ light chains on the various rat immunoglobulin classes and subclasses. The epitope recognized on the κ light chains is shared by both the 1a and 1b allotypes of this molecule. The antibody detects the κ and λ light chains derived from normal serum immunoglobulins or from myeloma proteins. Weak cross-reaction is observed with guinea pig immunoglobulins but not with human, bovine, cat, chicken, dog, goat, horse, mouse, pig, rabbit or sheep immunoglobulins.
Application
Monoclonal Anti-Rat Kappa & Lambda Light Chains-Biotin antibody produced in mouse may be used for immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections at a working antibody dilution of 1:600. A dilution of 1:4000 is recommended for dot blot. A working antibody dilution of 1:40000 may be used for ELISA and immunoblotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Immunoglobulins (Ig) are produced by the B cells and play crucial role in host humoral immune response. A typical immunoglobulin consists of two heavy chains and two light chains. The two light chains are either kappa or the lambda chain. The B cells express one type of light chain during their life time. The coupling of biotin to monoclonal Anti-Rat Kappa & Lambda Light Chains antibody allows for the binding of various labels such as avidin or streptavidin.

The detection of monoclonal free light chains (FLCs) is an important diagnostic aid for a variety of monoclonal gammopathies and is especially important in light-chain diseases, such as light-chain myeloma, primary systemic amyloidosis, and light-chain-deposition disease. These diseases are more
