General description
The gene Netrin-4 (NTN4) is mapped to human chromosome 12q22-23. Netrins are a family of extracellular matrix proteins that show significant homology with laminins. NTN4 shows high expression in kidney, spleen, mammary gland, aorta, heart, ovary, prostate, and fetal spleen.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to a region of human NTN4 with an internal ID of P29491
Application
Anti-NTN4 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 1.0μg/ml and for immunohistochemistry of tissue sections at a concentration of 10μg/ml.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Netrin 4 (NTN4) regulates the embryonic development, promotes neurite growth and axonal elongation. NTN4 positively regulates thalamocortical axon brancing. The expression of NTN4 reportedly increases the resistance of glioblastoma cells to temozolomide and induces lymphangiogenesis by activating small GTPases and Src family kinases/FAK. NTN4 is down-regulated in cervical cancer tissues via miR-196a. NTN4 binds endothelial α6β1 integrin. This interaction regulates NTN4-induced cell adhesion, migration and focal adhesion contact.
Physical form
Lyophilized from PBS buffer with 2% sucrose

Netrin-4 regulates vascular development. Identity of netrin-4 endothelial receptor and its subsequent cell functions is controversial. We previously demonstrated that the inhibition of netrin-1 canonical receptors, Unc5B and neogenin, expressed by lymphatic endothelial cells, do not suppress netrin-4-induced cell signaling
