生物素是活生物体和培养物中细胞所需的必需维生素。生物素与蛋白亲和素或细菌来源的链霉亲和素的高结合亲和力已被用于设计用于检测抗原与抗体的相互作用的免疫测定法。山羊抗生物素过氧化物酶抗体可用于许多可能将生物素引入靶标的应用。

在一些应用中，生物素化探针与亲和素的定位会产生高背景水平。抗生物素试剂可替代亲和素，以减少非特异性结合。
山羊抗生物素过氧化物酶抗体可用于直接 ELISA 分析（稀释度为 1：2,000）。

0.01 M磷酸盐缓冲液，pH 7.4，含有1％牛血清白蛋白和防腐剂。
