酒精氧化酶(AOX)是一种均八聚物,分子量为600-kDa。它具有八个黄素腺嘌呤二核苷酸(FAD)辅因子。它属于葡萄糖-甲醇-胆碱(GMC)氧化还原酶家族。
应用
毕赤酵母来源酒精氧化酶溶液用于棉质果胶甲基酯酶(PME)的酶测定中。它也可以可视化的生物传感器形式固定在聚苯胺(PANI)膜上,以试纸的形式用于测定发酵饮料样品中的乙醇。
乙醇氧化酶可用于研究蛋白向过氧化物酶体的转位。产品 A2404 来自 毕赤酵母 。已用于 Hv-p68 cDNA 克隆的细菌表达和免疫学验证 。
生化/生理作用
醇氧化酶催化短链初级脂肪醇氧化成各自的醛。对甲醇的亲和力最高。醇氧化酶参与甲醇的代谢,这对利用甲醇作为唯一能源的酵母菌来说很重要。乙醇氧化酶主要存在于过氧化物酶体,但也可能存在于细胞质中。
